Ryan and I have been saving and planning for a trip to Europe for quite a while. We are planning to go at the beginning of 2010. (Doesn't 2010 sound so far away? I can't believe that is next year.) Ryan has told me that he will take me wherever. He has traveled ALL OVER, so he said he would go anywhere he has already gone, or go somewhere he hasn't. I know I have friends out there who have traveled and studied abroad. Where should I go?
These are some places I am interested in......
Vienna, London, Rome, Venice, Austria, Salzburg (Mozart!!!! eeeee), or maybe New Zealand (I know that sounds random in this list)
Now, I have been researching this. Rick Steves is my new friend. But there are so many options....and I decided that maybe you can give me some insight. Thoughts? :)
Much love,
Allison
Oh I'm so jealous of the upcoming Europe trip! I'm definitely no expert, but I've been lucky enough to spend a semester abroad in Oxford and another one in Vienna in high school.
ReplyDeleteOk. So my very favorite is Italy. You can pretty easily do Florence, Venice, and Rome- all of which are amazing. But London is fun because there's so much to do and no language barrier. And you could go see some great shows. However, Vienna holds a special place in my heart. Maybe not the top priority though if you're wanting lots to do. But Salzburg is really wonderful and you could do the Sound of Music tour!! Really, you have a great list and I can't give you the answer. We'll talk... Have a good week!
I really liked Norway. :) I loved everything about it. We went to all the fun things in Oslo (my favorite was Frogner Park), and we went to Greig's house!!! and also to Lilehammer to the Olympic museum. . .and up to north of the Arctic Circle to see the Midnight Sun! It was so great!
ReplyDeleteMy favorites (besides Vienna) were Barcelona and Munich. Although Switzerland was wonderful too. There are so many great places, so I would suggest researching each city of interest to see which places have the most things you want to do!
ReplyDeleteps: I'm jealous
ReplyDeletewherever you go, see if rick steves has a book--if so, take it with you--he's great! I recommend Prague. It's beautiful and inexpensive, and filled with music. or the castles of germany are great too! have fun!
