Okay, we know we're having a girl. 95% sure. That's pretty close to 100%. But now we are trying to name her. This is super difficult. It's way more difficult than I thought it would be! But really, think....you have to call them that the rest of their lives. Forever I will be calling this name up the stairs. Calling this name out the front door when it's time for dinner or to come inside for the night. How do I pick?
We have a short list. I think we know the name, but I am skeptical. What if she doesn't look like a _____? I have read lots of baby sites and baby books looking for names. But how do I pick?
Help. Any suggestions?
And Sadie and Parker are our dogs. So they're out. (Should have thought that through....)
Okay....this may or may not help, but Conrad and I chose Hannah because the name meant something to us and there is a story behind it. So, you can try to choose a name that way. And then the middle name (Elizabeth) is my middle name so that has meaning too.
ReplyDeleteI don't think any baby looks like their name until it's been a few months and you've called them that! The first few weeks I didn't even say Olivia's name. She was just baby. But then when she got older and I used her name more it seemed to fit. That's how it was for me anyway!!
ReplyDeleteI second what Ryan and Katie said. PLUS, toa certain degree you become your name...There were other names I loved for Lillian, but now I think 'she doesn't look like a _____, she looks like Lillian.' - xoxo
