Dear Lylah,
I am not prepared to write an 18 month newsletter! I just cannot fathom this. Maybe it's that February is a short month. Or that 18 months just seems so big....so close to being 2! Crazy.
Still love books!
You are constantly talking, and learning and signing and talking. Did I say talking? You love to go through all your signs. You will say them in the car. In your bed after you wake up. Everywhere. We'll hear: "Sky! Grass! Please! Banana! Flower! Leaf! Juice! Milk!" (it goes on and on. and on.)
You've started picking up some phrases. Here's a video:
You absolutely love other children. Every child is "a baby!". You love a good playdate! You show off your toys, but are still pretty bad at sharing. We're working on it!

I love this picture cause it captures our life. The clutter, the bedhead....our little moments. |
We had a fun Valentines day! I made you a little last minute Valentines breakfast, including pink cereals I had from the Valentines snack I made for your MDO party and a piece of toast cookie cut into a heart. (So thankful for whoever gave that cookie cutter as a wedding favor....whoever that was.) You had a fun day at MDO, and got a new toy from us...Elmo. Whom you LOVE. You sleep with him (we finally got brave enough to let you have a stuffed animal in your bed) and ask for him constantly. "Elmo? Hug?"..... "Elmo! Eye. Nose. Mouth. Hand. Feet."
You are SOO tall! Your pants just get shorter and shorter and it gets harder and harder to keep your belly from showing. I'm going to have to get you some 3T clothes. You can wear some 2Ts, and a few 18-24 months, but you are getting so big. Your hair is getting long, too.
At the end of the month, we went on a ski trip (separate post coming). This was the one exception to your great sleeping. You are not a fan of sleeping in the pack'n play. But other than one bad night and crying for a bit when we put you down, you did fine. Ish.
Here you are before the trip, trying on your boots. (a last minute $9 Walmart find!)
And yes, that's a toothbrush. One of your favorite things.

We love you!
Mom and Dad
