Class Party

On Saturday we had our Bible class over for a dessert and game night! Here are some pictures...
Full from desserts!
What ENM gathering would be complete without Guitar Hero?

Is this making you hungry?

Above is my dessert.....

Above is Sara's award winning chocolate pie!

Enjoying the desserts!

Sadly, I didn't get a picture of the hilarious game of Apples to Apples that the girls played, or the foosball match....or the Imagine If game....or the Nerts game. So basically, I didn't get enough pictures!

However, great times were had by all! We have never had that many people over...the house was full! We had a great time!

Much love,
Allison

Ode to IKEA...and banana bread.

We love IKEA!
Now, growing up, I never knew the glory that is IKEA. We didn't have an IKEA in Edmond. Also, even if we did, I don't think we would have bought furniture to assemble. It takes a LOT of patience. But that was then, and this is now....

Okay, so my husband and I love IKEA. We like their hotdogs, too. Okay, we LOVE their hotdogs. Now I love a trip to IKEA, and Ryan tolerates it. We have a good time.

So we picked out this dresser and end tables that we liked a couple months ago on one of our many trips. After several trips, measuring them, researching them, etc....we decided we wanted them. But we knew that if we bought them, we had to put them together. How hard can it be, right?

I should also mention that as we were loading the 2 huge boxes onto our cart, a nice couple stopped and said they have the dresser and that they love it. Which is always nice to hear when you are about to make a big purchase. How long did it take you to put it together? We ask. Oh about an hour, they say. THEY LIED.

Note: I am kicking myself right now for not taking a picture of all the screws, boards, panels, etc. that we had to go through last night to assemble this. Our entire living room was covered in tools and parts.

3 and a half hours later....

Are you ready? Here it is.....

Isn't she pretty?

Now all we have left is the end tables. Those should be a piece of cake after the dresser! Right...??

Much love,
Allison

In other news, I made banana bread! I used to make it all the time, but I haven't in several months. But for some reason, this loaf was extra great. Maybe absence makes the heart grow fonder....or I just did it right this time....

If you watch "The View". . .

I think this is hilarious!

Ryan and I loved the "But what is research?" line.

Enjoy! :)

I love GREEN, and today is GREEN day!

I adore St. Patrick's Day!

If you know me, you know I love green. My office is completely green, as is our master bedroom and kitchen....and I wear green almost everyday. Seriously. Ask my coworkers.

Today is such a great day because everyone wears green! I saw on TV today that the fountain at the White House is green today in honor of St. Patrick's Day. Wonderful! How do I get a green fountain at my house?

As I was going to my closet to pick out an outfit, this was my thought process.

"I will wear this shirt (a green shirt). Oh wait, it is St. Patrick's Day, so I need to wear...oh good."

I was already going to wear green anyway! So convenient.  :)

And, I wore green yesterday. And on Thursday.

And, I have some Irish in my genes! Happy St. Patricks day! Wear green.

Much love,
Allison
Bushes outside out house that are green. :)

P.S. I still need help on the Europe trip! See the below post.

Where should I go in Europe?

HELP!

Ryan and I have been saving and planning for a trip to Europe for quite a while. We are planning to go at the beginning of 2010. (Doesn't 2010 sound so far away? I can't believe that is next year.) Ryan has told me that he will take me wherever. He has traveled ALL OVER, so he said he would go anywhere he has already gone, or go somewhere he hasn't. I know I have friends out there who have traveled and studied abroad. Where should I go?

These are some places I am interested in......
Vienna, London, Rome, Venice, Austria, Salzburg (Mozart!!!! eeeee), or maybe New Zealand (I know that sounds random in this list)

Now, I have been researching this. Rick Steves is my new friend. But there are so many options....and I decided that maybe you can give me some insight. Thoughts? :)

Much love,
Allison

Melissa goes "Dancing"!

So, 6 followers of my blog (one of which, I admit, is me...), I am sure you are waiting on pins and needles to see what I thought about Melissa on DWTS.

As I said below, I was not planning to watch this season. I have watched it the past few seasons, but I really wanted a break from ABC Reality TV. Why? Here's why. Ryan doesn't watch it. It is too long. It takes up too much time I don't really have. It doesn't even fit on our DVR on Monday nights. (We would much rather watch 24) So why did I tune in? Drum roll...

Melissa was good! And her partner, Tony Dovolani, who never has a good partner, might have a shot this year of sticking around past week 3! I think he has the coolest name. He just sounds like a dancer. But, I digress.

I guess I will keep watching DWTS. I was going to sit this one out, but I am hooked. I will at least watch it online...or on you tube.

In other news, Jason and Molly continue their "Apology-we-are-really-in-love-and-not-crazy" tour of the talk shows. I found a video of their interview with Bonnie Hunt and it was pretty rough. I recommend it! Here is the link:

But then again, I need to move on from The Bachelor. Melissa has, so I can, too.

Much love,
Allison

Dancing with the Stars--UGH

Okay, it is 6:58. I told myself (and my husband) a few days ago that I would not waste my time on another ABC reality show. Read: Dancing with the Stars. But then, out of the blue, ABC combines my hatred for Jason Mesnick from the Bachelor with Dancing with the Stars. They have supposedly put Melissa in the line up. Yes, Melissa, the dumped Bachelorette who I adored on the show.

Will I watch? Yes. Why? I am not sure.

But if the winner of Dancing with the Stars dumps the other and then decides to get with the other winner's professional partner, I am OUT for good. Let this be a warning, ABC.

Much love,
Allison

Are you kidding me?!?

I heard about this on the radio. You all might have, too. It is worth a listen!

My thoughts on The Bachelor and Jason "Jerk" Mesnick...

I have been typing this post since last night, and have been trying to process how I was so dumb to get sucked into this silly, silly show. What a waste of my life.

My thoughts on this show:

1. I liked Melissa from the beginning. She was sweet, seemed genuine, and I just liked her. Okay? Jason, aka public enemy number 1, chose Melissa. He chose her! Yay! I am never right on these shows! But then....

2. He changes his mind. He "can't control his feelings". Note: We control our feelings everyday. This is why we don't run in to the back of the car in front of us, even though they have cut us off in bad traffic. This is why we don't hit our co-worker, boss, or friend when they make us really mad. It is called controlling your feelings.

3. Then he publicly humiliates Melissa.  According to several sites, Melissa knew that this might be coming. You can watch the video at the bottom of this post to see Jason's interview with Jimmy Kimmel. (He discusses this.)

4. Then, Jason tries to get Molly back. She seems shocked, but them she kisses him. She just melts and takes him back. Why would she trust him? He dumped you once,
and then publicly humiliated Melissa.

5. Jason says that this is the way he feels, and if people don't like it, then they don't like it.

6. Jason walks over to Chris Harrison and accepts a trophy for being the "All-time-Jerk-of-the-Bachelor". (This didn't really happen. :)

I don't think this was staged, as some bloggers and news stories are saying. I just think it
is DUMB.

Please tell me how you feel....cause I feel MAD and HURT.

Much love,
Allison

I love surprises.

Allissa told me this weekend that she loves surprises....I had to show her this SNL video!

As I usually say to people when I show them videos....
You may not think it is funny, and that is okay....but I do! :)
