We got bored...

This is a long overdue post, but when it snowed like crazy, we got bored. Ryan and I both stayed home from work, and shenanigans ensued. See below.

We dressed up our dogs.

Resourcefully cooked.

Pancakes. Training for when we have kids. (My Dad always make us initial pancakes)

I wanted to do a puzzle. Ryan did not.

The dogs got a little stir-crazy, too....

Gotta go....Sadie is trying to drag Lewis around the house.

Sadie is in L-O-V-E

Sadie has been searching for a male companion her whole life. Most of her dog buddies that are male seem to live farther away. She hangs out with girls mostly. She has been wanting a boyfriend forever. Now, don't worry, she is fixed. But she wants a male friend. Remember this?

Well, she has found a new love. His name is Lewis. Ryan bought him for me for Valentines. I love Lewis. He is super cute.

So when we brought Lewis home, we put him in a chair and wanted to see what the dogs would do. They were intrigued. Parker was a little scared. But Sadie, oh. She loved him instantly. And never wanted to leave his side.

Meet Lewis.

At first it was cute. Really cute. We put him in our room and only let Sadie see him every now and then. We keep our door closed, and she usually runs to it to see if it is open.

It was a cute little quirk. Then it got weird. I was out taking pictures and I got this text:

Hahahhahahaha. I am probably the only one who thinks this is hysterical. Here are some pictures of Sadie and Lewis.

Giving Lewis some lovin'.

Guarding Lewis from Parker.

Hey! Stay away from Lewis!

I will guard you forever, Lewis.

Snow Day and Snow Day Projects.

So we were iced/snowed in for FOUR days here! The dogs were very confused. But spoiled. They did not complain.
Arrrggggh. I'm stretching. Give me more bones and throw this toy for me, will ya?

Our backyard on Friday, when it snowed. We had just had ice, and the dogs could not walk on it. But the snow, they loved. They kept eating it.
 Is this ice cream?

They had a blast. We were warm and toasty inside. Probably waiting on them to come in so we could watch Netflix.

I tackled another organization project. I learned how to complete tasks quickly from my mother. Remember this? I did this is an hour. But this project below only took half and hour. While I was watching The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Reunion. Such a multi-tasker. (Is Camille nuts or what?)

Before....

After. Ahhhh.

Give me a space and I will organize it. It's my super power.

Destruction by Sadie and Parker

And by Sadie and Parker, I mean just Parker.

This used to be a tent that we used for grilling and giving the dogs shade. No more.

I came out of the shower yesterday, and this is what I found. So many questions. How did she get that rug to roll up that many times? Why did she drag her food bowl out? Was breakfast not filling? Why did we never take the IKEA sticker off?

Sadie and Parker didn't do this, I only have myself to blame..

I was the most mad about my claw clip getting drenched.

I wanted to wear it, dang it.

Bluebonnets 2010

After bribing them with treats and a trip to the dog park, this is what we got....

Not too bad, if I do say so myself.

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

I have been trying to catch this for weeks. Whenever Parker takes Sadie's bone, it makes Sadie man. But because she can't get her to give it up, she has to resort to drastic measures. She sits on her.

Huge Snow 2010

Some fun pictures from the snow in February.....
What is this stuff?
Are you aware it is snowing out here?

Only 39 days till Glee comes back. But who's counting?

Let's Move on, Shall We?

In honor of moving on from the drama, here are some funny videos of my dogs. My good friend and fellow Bachelor watcher Natasha posted a cute video of her dog. You should watch it. It is so funny. So I wanted to get it on the fun. They are all under 30 seconds, so plug in your headphones and watch for a minute. It's worth it...promise.

This one is Sadie before Parker was even around. She is playing with a ball that has a motor in it. Pretty cute.

This one is our dogs playing in the snow at the Hejl's house. They had been in their crates for 24 hours....thanks to the Ice Storm 2009-Edmond-gets-targeted-with-14-inches-of-snow.

This one is recently...we got the Gentle Leader leash. Parker did not like it. This one is pretty funny!

Sadie has a boyfriend?

So here is a crazy story. On Sunday night when Ryan and I got home, I saw a little Jack Russell terrier running around our fence in the back. I have taken a local Jack Russell terrier, Jack (clever, huh?), back to his owner before, so I took off down the alley trying to get him to take him back. He was gone. Ryan and I looked for a little bit, and then went inside and didn't think much else of it.

This morning, Ryan goes to let Sadie in, and he yells, "There is another dog in our backyard!" I run to the door and as we are about to grab him, he runs under a gap in our fence. (Yes, we need a new fence. We know.)

We both stare at Sadie.

R: Sadie has a visitor! I think he was here the other night, too!
A: Oh my word, our dog has a boyfriend.

Now I keep imagining that when she wants to go outside, it is to wait for him to come over. Maybe he was her final choice on her season of "The Dog Bachelorette".

Or maybe while we are at work all the local dogs come over to our backyard and play charades.

Where we think the little guy got in. We have since secured the area. You can tell by the lovely bricks. Again, we know we need a new fence.
Sadie looking guilty, waiting by the door for her boyfriend to come over.

Is this not hilarious? Maybe it is just us.

Much love,
Allison

Our Song is a Slammin' Screen door....

(The Title of my Post is my cell phone ring. Remember? I love Taylor Swift.)

Ryan has installed a screen door on our back door! He is super handy. This may sound like it is not a big deal, but the directions were ridiculous and it took longer than the nice Lowe's man said it would. Ryan worked diligently after work for a four days. I was the official complainer and drill-holder. My mother would be so proud.

We got the screen door because our dog, Sadie, scratches the current door like crazy. And it is nice because we can leave the back door open and see outside. Okay, I mean Sadie can see outside. Man, we do a lot for this dog. Anyway, so far she is afraid of the screen door, so she won't scratch. We'll see how long that lasts.

Here is Ryan's handy work:
BEAUTIFUL. My Husband rules.
Sadie looking at me weirdly because I am taking pictures of a screen door. Sheesh, Sadie. Ungrateful.

Much love,
Allison

August 1, 2008, we brought Sadie home......

She stole our hearts.....

Then the ears just kept getting bigger and bigger......and so did she....

And she never stopped!
Happy Birthday, Sadie!

Shedding Season

Yes, that is hair! Here Sadie is getting her nightly/"whenever-we-remember" brush.

Jealous? Didn't think so.

P.S. When a clump of hair falls off inside, Sadie eats it. So really, she is doing her part.

Much love,
Allison

Sadie is a mutt?

We have long tried to discover Sadie (our dog's) breed. Many say German Shepherd, many say Rottweiler. We have heard Blue heeler, as well. Many speculations.

We have been told that we can get DNA testing done for 100 something dollars. Okay, we love our dog, but that is just a little too much. Someone told us their friend had it done and the testing revealed that their dog was a combination of 10 breeds. 10? What is that going to tell us? Just something to tell people when they ask? And then you have to explain to them that you were ridiculous enough to pay for DNA testing!

So we just say she is a mutt. But recently, we have been told she looks like a Manchester Terrier. Which is interesting, because when we adopted her from the SPCA, they told us she was a "terrier mix". We took this to mean she would be small. Uh, we were wrong.

Here are two pictures of a Manchester Terrier.

Here are two pictures of German Shepherds......

But does it really matter? We just love her.

Here she is....

Much love,
Allison

Experimenting with the New Camera!

I got a new camera! After careful study, saving and the advice of Stacey Collodi, I have bought and received (very speedily from Amazon) a brand new Nikon D60! Esk! I am so excited, I cannot form the words! Here is the first picture I took, followed by other pictures I took of my sweet Sadie. I did not know she was so photogenic! Okay, maybe I did. :)
First picture with the new camera, and a mighty cute one if I do say so myself

Look at those eyes! I love this camera!

Sadie in our Living Room!

Yay new camera! And The Bachelor is on tonight!

Much love,

We had a baby!

Ok, not really. But it sure feels that way! Ryan and I are very attached to our new little bundle of joy. We love her so much, and we just met her!

Funny does not begin to describe how entertaining she is! She has stumbled into every object in our apartment...the fan, the couch, the bed, her crate, her own feet....she is too cute!

Here are the reasons we feel like we have a baby....

1.When we are gone, we worry about her.

2. Our lives have completely changed. You have to think about what to do with the puppy before we make any plans!

3. We feel so protective of her, and taking her to the vet was nerve-racking!

Now, a baby and a puppy are completely different. But one thing we have established is...we are not ready for a baby!
