Tribute to Patrick Swayze

Great tribute to Patrick Swayze from last night's DWTS.
I love the second couple because they are a married couple in real life.

Much love,

DWTS....little late...

Okay, so I have over and over said that I am a Melissa supporter. You know, Melissa, from the Bachelor? And now Dancing with the Stars? What? I have mentioned this before?

So on Monday, when it was down to Gilles, Shawn and Melissa, I was so excited! All three are great dancers. Of course I wanted Melissa to win, but to be honest, I just didn't want her to be second! Especially after Jeffrey Ross roasted the contestants and mentioned Melissa's dumping on national TV by Jason The Jerk Mesnick. (Ryan, if you defend him, I swear...)

So when Melissa came in third, it was a relief for me. She just seemed so happy to have made it that far and she seemed genuinely proud of her third place finish. She did so well!

Now when it came down to Shawn and Gilles, I wanted Shawn to win. I was a Nastia fan during the Olympics, but Shawn has grown on me. Gilles, on the other hand, I never got why he was such a big deal. He kinda erks me.

Anyway, so I wanted Shawn to win. AND SHE DID. So I am pleased!

Since Monday night, I found this video, which I think is a great video of Shawn on DWTS. Even if you don't watch the show, or didn't watch this season, this is a good video to see why America loves Shawn. She is so cute! And this Cha cha she dances was my favorite of her dances, because it is so fun and cute, and it makes me want to go to Edmond, drive up Kelly to 2nd and see my old pals at Star Steps dance studio. Love it.

Lil' Kim goes home!

What? Ryan does not care one bit about DWTS, but even he was surprised. When they announced Lil' Kim was going home, Ryan and I looked at each other with our jaws droppping! I can't believe Ty Murray beat her out. He must have some following. Maybe people just don't want to tick off his wife, Jewel.

Okay, I might have predicted this here, at number 5. I didn't think she would make it past the first couple of weeks, but she was actually good. But I guess this still would constitute "early elimination". So, for the record, I called it. Yes, I called it.

Go Melissa! And yes, I still think that if she saw me at the grocery store, she would thank me for supporting her. Ryan told me last night that this is a silly thought. Well he didn't say it, but he gave me a look, and then a hug. But I really like Melissa. She seems cool.

Too much DWTS for me....can you tell?

Much love,

Am I posting about Melissa Rycroft again??!?!?

Yes, I am. So sue me.

If you read my blog, you probably know that I watch Dancing with the Stars, and The Bachelor. After Jason pulled the ultimate jerk move and switched Bachelorettes, I took an intrest in Melissa because for some odd reason, I guess I feel like we are friends. As if I ran into her at the grocery store, she would thank me for watching her, blogging about her and following her "career". Cough. I doubt this would happen, but if it did, I would LOVE it.

Note: To this day, if I call Jason Mesnick a jerk or something, Ryan says something to the tune of "Leave him alone...." Really? REALLY, RYAN?!?!

I have watched Melissa do VERY well on Dancing with the Stars. I have also watched her get bad press because of her dance background, and also because people don't think she is a "star".
Here are my feelings....

Really? Dance experience? She was a cheerleader and a ballet dancer. This does, I think, work a little bit to her advantage because she does know how to move...but really. Let's think about this. How many stars on this show have had a dance related background? Lots. Mario Lopez, had a dance background. I saw him ballet dance on Saved by the Bell when I was seven. And he owned DWTS when he was on it. No one gave him bad press.

Several stars have done well with a background in dance or performing. Mel B, the Spice girl did well....Cheetah girl (name escapes me) was very good.....Kristi Yamaguchi did VERY well. She even won!

So back off Melissa. I like her.

That is all.

Much love,

Melissa goes "Dancing"!

So, 6 followers of my blog (one of which, I admit, is me...), I am sure you are waiting on pins and needles to see what I thought about Melissa on DWTS.

As I said below, I was not planning to watch this season. I have watched it the past few seasons, but I really wanted a break from ABC Reality TV. Why? Here's why. Ryan doesn't watch it. It is too long. It takes up too much time I don't really have. It doesn't even fit on our DVR on Monday nights. (We would much rather watch 24) So why did I tune in? Drum roll...

Melissa was good! And her partner, Tony Dovolani, who never has a good partner, might have a shot this year of sticking around past week 3! I think he has the coolest name. He just sounds like a dancer. But, I digress.

I guess I will keep watching DWTS. I was going to sit this one out, but I am hooked. I will at least watch it online...or on you tube.

In other news, Jason and Molly continue their "Apology-we-are-really-in-love-and-not-crazy" tour of the talk shows. I found a video of their interview with Bonnie Hunt and it was pretty rough. I recommend it! Here is the link:

But then again, I need to move on from The Bachelor. Melissa has, so I can, too.

Much love,
Allison

Dancing with the Stars--UGH

Okay, it is 6:58. I told myself (and my husband) a few days ago that I would not waste my time on another ABC reality show. Read: Dancing with the Stars. But then, out of the blue, ABC combines my hatred for Jason Mesnick from the Bachelor with Dancing with the Stars. They have supposedly put Melissa in the line up. Yes, Melissa, the dumped Bachelorette who I adored on the show.

Will I watch? Yes. Why? I am not sure.

But if the winner of Dancing with the Stars dumps the other and then decides to get with the other winner's professional partner, I am OUT for good. Let this be a warning, ABC.

Much love,

Dancing with the Stars Line-up, Part 1

I have so many things I could blog about right now. But, instead of having a deep post about my life and ministry, I will spare you that and talk about Dancing with the Stars! And the Bachelor, probably...if I have time. :)

Dancing with the Stars announced PART of their line-up for their March something debut of Season 8. Everyone is talking about how there are lots of romantic couples, one married, one engaged and one dating. Here are my thoughts!

1. Julianne Hough (whom I LOVE as a dancer but don't care for as a singer) is dancing, even after she said last year she was done with the show. She is dancing with.....drum roll....her boyfriend. Some country singer. I guess if you are going to come back to the show, it might as well be for your love interest.

2. Jewel is dancing. I like Jewel, but Ryan doesn't. I think she has bad teeth, but she is a good singer. But honestly, I didn't know her career was that down the tubes to go on Dancing with the Stars! But then again, I haven't heard a lot from her since she sang that one song...what was it...about the towels on the floor and don't leave your keys in the door?

3. Speaking of down the tubes, there is Denise Richards. She is dancing with the very handsome, but conceited, Maksim. (I am not even going to try to spell his last name. I am not sure I got his first name right. Probably not.) Denise should be interesting. Will probably cry a lot and drive Maks crazy! I perdict a fairly early exit for her and sadly, Maks.

4. Jewel's husband, Ty Murray, is also on the show. Weird. Maybe they only do things together? Biking, bowling, going to movies, reality TV? Okay, sure.

5. Shawn Johnson is competing this season. I like her! I preferred Nastia in the Olympics, but I really liked Shawn, too. My lifelong bff Rachel Chiz liked Shawn better, so I will give her a chance, I guess. But regardless, she is totally my prediction for winner! (I guess I should wait to see who else is going to be on the show, but you heard it here: Shawn Johnson WILL win.)

5. Lil' Kim. Okay? Prediction: Early Elimination.

6. Belinda Carlisle from the Go-go's. Who? Showing my age here I am sure.

7. Someone named Steve-O from a TV show title I cannot post on my blog. You can look it up, I guess. Sorry.

8. They said Karina (one of the pro dancers) will be on the show, but they didn't say with who. She will be dancing against her fiance, Maks. Wasn't she dating Mario Lopez (aka AC Slater) for a long time and that just ended a few months ago? I wonder who she will dance with. At the rate we are going, it will probably be someone's husband.

The Bachelor:
Out of time, but Melissa is totally going to win, and I am happy, because I like her. And she is from Dallas! I never pick the winner right, so this would be a true first.

Much love,
Allison

I love me some Dancing with the Stars.

It's that time of year again. That precious time of year where Ryan and I have the Monday and Tuesday night debate of who gets the big TV.
"Please, watch DWTS with me. If Emmet Smith can do the show, you can watch it!"
"No thank you. I would rather watch Emmet play football."

After last night's premiere of DWTS, here are my thoughts:
1. Cloris is really old, and kinda weird. And she says bad words. She is annoying.
2. Kim Kardashian bothers me. Urks me. By the way, did you read that she swears she wears a size 27 jean (waist) and got ticked that people didn't believe her...so she showed her tags on a video on a blog? Really? I digress. 3. Edyta got screwed over. Jeffery Ross is not a good partner...and Edyta, even though she doesn't really wear clothes, is a great dancer. Sorry Edyta.
4. Samantha Harris looks pretty bad. She obviously works out like crazy and lives in a tanning bed. This overtanned, overly skinny, overly done up look is not flattering. And she is not really a good host. She is the queen of making the show awkward.
5. Julianne is beautiful! I have always liked her.
6. Lance Bass needs to stop going tanning with Samantha Harris.
7. Cloris is annoying. Did I say that?
8. Toni Braxton is pretty good. I like her. She MIGHT be my favorite.
9. Len can be an old fart.
10. This season should be interesting! I don't really just LOVE anyone....but hopefully someone will grow on me soon...because I am sacrificing the big TV to watch it. And I have to miss football. Darn it. (Read: sarcasm.)

More thoughts to come, I am sure.

Much love,
Allison
